From the perspective of the apostles, the biblical holy days, at least the spring festivals, were symbolic pictures fulfilled by Jesus. He was the Passover lamb which 'takes away the sins of the world.' He was also the 'the Firstfruits of them that slept.' All these prophetic pictures inherent in the biblical feast days were regulated by the cycle of the moon.
