1. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about the things they read {or watch, or listen to, or taste, or whatever}. They're also entitled to express them online.2. Sometimes those opinions will be ones you don't like.3. Sometimes those opinions won't be very nice.4. The people expressing those may be {but are not always} assholes.5. However, if your solution to this "problem" is to vex, annoy, threaten or harrass them, you are a bigger asshole.6. You may also be twelve.7. You are not responsible for anyone else's actions or karma, but you are responsible for your own.8. So leave them alone and go about your own life.

Everyone has the right to form and share their opinions about various forms of media, be it books, movies, or music. It's a natural part of engagement, and sometimes these opinions can be unpleasant or even harsh. It's important to recognize that not everyone will agree with you, and that criticism can come in many forms, often from people who may seem rude or unpleasant.

However, responding to negativity with harassment or hostility only reflects poorly on you. Whether the dissenters are behaving badly or not, taking it upon yourself to issue threats or become a nuisance makes you part of the problem. Ultimately, you are only accountable for your own actions and should focus on your own life rather than retaliating against others.

People pontificate, "Suicide is selfishness." Career churchmen like Pater go a step further and call in a cowardly assault on the living. Oafs argue this specious line for varying reason: to evade fingers of blame, to impress one's audience with one's mental fiber, to vent anger, or just because one lacks the necessary suffering to sympathize. Cowardice is nothing to do with it - suicide takes considerable courage. Japanese have the right idea. No, what's selfish is to demand another to endure an intolerable existence, just to spare families, friends, and enemies a bit of soul-searching.

The pollenless trees were genomed to repel bugs and birds; the stagnant air reeked of insecticide.

A random sequence of seemingly unrelated events.

You say you're 'depressed' - all i see is resilience. You are allowed to feel messed up and inside out. It doesn't mean you're defective - it just means you're human.

Books don't offer real escape, but they can stop a mind scratching itself raw.
