Crimes are categorized into three main types: Hudud, Tazir, and Qisas. Hudud crimes are those that are condemned by God, and their punishments are explicitly stated in the Koran. These offenses are taken seriously within Islamic law, and the prescribed consequences are not to be altered by human discretion.
Tazir crimes, on the other hand, allow designated authorities the freedom to determine appropriate punishments based on the context and severity of the crime. Lastly, Qisas crimes focus on the rights of the victim, granting them the option to retaliate in a manner that corresponds to the harm they have experienced.
