If all else perished, and he remained, I should still continue to be; and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn to a mighty stranger.
If everything else in the world were to disappear, I believe I would still keep going as long as he was present. His existence gives my life meaning and purpose, regardless of external circumstances.
Conversely, if everything else stayed the same but he were to vanish, the universe would lose its familiarity and become strange to me. His presence is integral to my understanding of the world and my own identity.
