The gunshots awakened Mr. Ullman, a banker by trade and a recent arrival from Copenhagen, who looked out the bedroom window just in time to see a tremendous bull galloping across his yard with a thrashing young American impaled on its rack. Mr. Ullman quickly telephoned the police and informed them, as urgently as his newly-acquired English would allow, that an 'unlucky cowboy is being perforated seriously.

He looked out his window and saw a large bull running across his yard with a young American rider caught on its rack, in obvious danger. The scene was chaotic and frightening, prompting immediate concern for the young man's safety.
"An unlucky cowboy is being perforated seriously," Ullman told the police, describing the incident with urgency. His limited English did not prevent him from understanding the seriousness of the situation and the need for quick help to save the impaled rider.
