The wisdom of the journeyman is to work one day at a time and he always said that any job even if it took years was made up out of a day's work. Nothing more. Nothing less. That was hard for me to learn. I always wanted to be finished. In the concept of a day's work is rythme and pace and wholeness.

The journey of a craftsman emphasizes the importance of taking life one day at a time. Working steadily, he believed that any long-term project eventually breaks down into manageable daily tasks. This perspective instills a sense of rhythm, pace, and a feeling of completion in one's work. It teaches that the process of creation is gradual and requires persistence.

For the speaker, embracing this mindset proved challenging, as there was a strong desire to achieve results quickly. However, understanding that significant accomplishments are achieved through consistent, daily efforts was a crucial lesson. The idea is that every job, no matter how extensive, consists of the simple work done each day.
