Self-pity in its early stages is as snug as a feather mattress. Only when it hardens does it become uncomfortable.

Self-pity initially provides a comforting and cozy feeling, like lying on a soft feather mattress, making it easy to indulge in it during the early stages. It offers a sense of relief and protection from the challenges of life, making it tempting to stay in that emotional state.

However, as self-pity persists and intensifies, it turns into a hardening emotion that becomes difficult to bear. Over time, this hardened self-pity can cause discomfort and emotional pain, highlighting the importance of recognizing and moving beyond it to find healing and growth.
