These prototypes represented a significant leap as they were the first to operate with an efficient, full-speed 220-nanosecond clock.

Rasala emphasized that, akin to Dr. Who's adventures, the main goal of these machines was "to conquer time." The environment buzzed with activity, featuring spinning mag tapes and numerous disk drives, showcasing a blend of innovation and ambition aimed at pushing the boundaries of technology.
