I believe that many people do not truly grow up. Instead, they go through the motions of marriage and parenthood, which they often view as signs of maturity. However, this process is more about aging physically rather than developing emotionally or spiritually.
"I am convinced that most people do not grow up... We marry and dare to have children and call that growing up. I think what we do is mostly grow old. We carry accumulation of years in our bodies, and on our faces, but generally our real selves, the children inside, are innocent and shy as magnolias." This highlights that genuine maturity involves retaining the innocence and shyness of our inner selves despite aging externally.
