There was nothing but mist to his left and behind him, but to his right, he made out two or three large, bulky shapes, standing upright. Making his way slowly across the lumpy ground, he found that they were stones. Remnants of one of those prehistoric sites that littered the ground in northern Britain. Only three of the big stones were still standing, but he could see a few more, fallen or pushed over, lying like bodies in the darkening fog. He paused to vomit, holding on to one of the stones. Christ, his head was like to split! And he had a terrible buzzing in his ears

In a misty landscape, a man navigates the uneven terrain, initially greeted by a foggy stillness. As he moves to his right, he discovers several large stones, remnants of ancient monuments found in northern Britain. These stones evoke a sense of history, with some still standing proudly while others lay toppled, evoking a graveyard of the past.

Overwhelmed by his surroundings, he becomes physically ill, leaning against one of the stones for support. A crushing headache afflicts him, accompanied by a persistent buzzing in his ears, highlighting the intensity of his experience amidst the eerie remnants of history.
